The first step to changing lawyers is to pay any outstanding fees to your current lawyers. The reason why this is important is because your current lawyer will not release your file to us if you still owe them money.

Following this you will then need to supply both us and your current lawyers with a written authority for your current lawyers to pass your file on to us. We understand that it can be awkward telling your lawyer that you no longer want them to act for you. As such we are more than happy to correspond on your behalf, so you don’t have to speak to that lawyer again if you don’t want to.

Finally, we firmly believe that prospective clients should not be burdened with additional costs when considering a change in legal representation. As such we do not charge any additional fees for reviewing your file that we receive form your current lawyer.
